Stretford End Flags (SEF) was set up in August 2005 in order to provide new banners and maintain the original banners on the front of the Stretford End. SEF feel that it is important to keep the tradition of this unique show of support and to encourage supporter involvement in helping improve the matchday colour and atmosphere at Old Trafford.

SEF want the Stretford End covered by banners that we, as fans, want, that we, the supporters, have chosen and that mean something to us, not faceless flags or St Georges crosses with any town names on them. SEF is here to provide a platform for YOU the supporters to submit ideas for banner designs, anybody can submit a design or idea. The Final designs are chosen by majority vote through this sites Flag Forum .

We, the organisers of this group, are all loyal match going fans, who have years of watching United under our belts. This however is not about us or any one individual, it is about YOU the fans and YOUR support for Manchester United Football Club.  Its about YOU the supporters getting behind the players and manager as we have done sice the clubs long exsitence. We have years of history, players, managers and supporters who have made this club what it is today - we want to continue that tradition.

SEF is also about the involvement of all United supporters from all the stands of Old Trafford, not just the Stretford End.
We feel that fans involvement is important, adding to both the noise and the colour of Old Trafford.

Whilst having no official links to Manchester United or receiveing any funding from Manchester United, Stretford End Flags works with the support of Manchester United and has received backing from Sir Alex Ferguson in supporting the aims of SEF.
SEF also receives much needed coverage from the Manchester Unitde official match programme, official club website and from MUTV.

Over recent seasons, as well as providing the banners on the front of the Stretford End, we have provided large TIFO flags that are waved on the pitch before our European Home games. SEF also promote the Euro Flag Nights for each European Home game at Old Trafford, ecouraging supporters to bring their own flags to Old Trafford and to Show Your Colours.

SEF designed the "BELIEVE" and EURO CUP mosaics used at the European Cup Semi Final in 2008 against Barcelona, as well the BELIEVE mosaic seen in the United end at the European Cup final in Moscow 2008. SEF also designed and laid out the 20LEGEND mosaic that covered North stand for Ole Gunnar Solskjaers testimonial.

SEF organised a large over-the-head Super Flag that featured the image of Giggs and Neville lifting the Premier league trophy in 2007.

SEF have provided tributes to George Best in form of a banner used on the Old Trafford pitch as part of the memorial tribute, which later took pride and place on the Stretford End and is now in the hands of the Best family in Belfast. SEF also funded a large wreath on behalf of its members which was laid at the Munich Memorial plaque.

SEF has also contributed to United related charities, through a charity night in 2007, SEF raised funds for The George Best Foundation and the Jamie Turner Appeal (A United fan viciously attacked whilst attending a Utd away game which resulted un substantive hospital treatment and costly after support). Through its annual football game against Rednews, SEF raised funds which went towards the costs of a funeral for long time United supporter Big John.

In order to provide new banners (An average cost per new banner is £350), TIFO flags and other supporter lead ideas, it is vital that we receive donations from YOU the supporters.
