Its been a topic for debate amongst members of the SEF forum community for a while now, but we feel that time has come to pay tribute and honour 3 United greats - GIGGS, SCHOLES and NEVILLE.

SEF plan to make a large flag featuring an image of the three said players, similar in size to the "Welcome to Manchester" flag that was produced by SEF member Lisa G (Click link to see pic of flag).

SEF seek your design ideas, which must incorporate the images of the three players and suitable wording.

A thread has been opened on the SEF forum for all design ideas to be submitted, idealy with a mock up of your design. The three best designs will be submitted and put up for a members vote on the SEF forum.

Its easy to become a member, simply make a financial donation towards new banners and you will become a recognised SEF member (This flag will cost in the region of £600) click link here to find out how to donate.

Not only will the best design be made into a flag, the winning designer will also win a copy of a New Manchester United Book - "GLORY GLORY - Man Utd in the 90's - The Players Stories" which has kindly been donated by the author Andy Mitten.

Why did Eric Cantona start wearing his collar up? Which player got so drunk after a title-winning party he wet himself in a taxi? Why did Andrew Cole and Teddy Sheringham fall out? And which international star burnt his wedding tackle on a scalding hot tea urn?

Glory Glory is the story of one of the greatest eras in the history of England’s most famous club through the eyes of the players who made it happen. Not just the great wins, the cup finals and the trophy parades, but the half-time rows, the mad pranks, the boozy nights out and the training ground bust-ups.

Andy Mitten has tracked down ten of the stars from that team – including Eric Cantona, Andrew Cole, Lee Sharpe and Nicky Butt as well as controversial chairman Martin Edwards – to open the door to both the dressing room and the boardroom at Old Trafford as the club emerged as the dominant force in English football.

Glory Glory is an astonishingly candid and revealing insight into a club that was enjoying a magnificent decade of success. More than that, it is as lively and entertaining a sports book as you will ever read.

About the Author:
Andy Mitten – whose great uncle Charlie Mitten was a star in Matt Busby’s first great side – writes regularly for The Independent and FourFourTwo magazine. He has visited 90 countries and every continent as a football writer, covering derby games from Israel to the Faroes and Andorra to South Africa. He has also interviewed players such as Rooney, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Eto’o, Keane and Gerrard.

Born and red in Manchester, Andy currently divides his time between M16 and Barcelona, scene of United’s greatest triumph. He has written or co-written eight United books.

"Glory Glory - Man Utd in the 90's - The Players Stories" is available in all good book shops from October 12th and is a great read (Christmas gift) for any Manchester United fan, both young and old.
